The New Lyke Wake Club

One of the hardest walks we have done – Evie

I would like to report a crossing of the Lyke Wake Walk.

A group of six of us completed the classic route crossing on Saturday 18th July 2026 at 23:04. We started at 4:14 having a total time of 18:49:49 and total distance of 42.53 miles.

I have put photos of us at the starting point and the end point below.

We knew this would be a challenge to us all, however this was one of the hardest walks we have done, despite all of us being quite active. We do however think this is due to being slightly unprepared. The weather for the day looked hot so some of us didn’t bring fleeces or rain coats and it did in fact rain! We should have known as we are in England.

Overall, we had a good time and it was a great experience. It will definitely be a day to remember!
