I write to report a successful crossing made on Friday 24^th July 2026.

Starting at 3.30am from the car park by Cod Beck Reservoir, still in the dark but with the first signs of the day in the east, we made good progress up to Carlton Bank. Our support team met us at checkpoint 2. We reached the Lion Inn in good time.

The section after Fat Betty was dry after the exceptionally hot weather we have had. We saw a grass snake on this section. Fresh socks at checkpoint 4 at Hamer helped progress.

Steady progress past Blue Man i’ the’ Moss. Starting to feel tired. A sighting of an adder after Ella Cross.

Very happy to reach the mast and the Lyke Wake stone at around 9pm.
